White Hills

White Hills

This might be the best drumming that I’ve recorded – at least White Hills really let me go for it.

I joined White Hills during an odd lull in Oneida – I can’t remember the circumstances – but I wasn’t playing as much as I wanted to. . .and I learned that a NYC band I’d never heard of was looking for a drummer. The tip came from Rocket Recordings – I actually went to the audition without listening to White Hills’ music. I figured that Rocket knew what they were talking about. If they were into them – I knew it would be heavy – and it was. Really distilled psyched – kind of Hawkwind meets Kraut meets Loop? Something like that. . .super fun people. Being in the band was a great experience because Dave W and Ego Sensation are ambitious and they wanted to release records. I just had to show up and play! I think we might have released 4 albums in the two years I was with the band. This is the only “proper” release – but the others are sick too.

This is a great record – you should pick it up here.
