Dub Will Tear Us Apart (Again)

Jäh Division

This is a record that I was involved with in 2004. Jäh Division was kind of a goof at first. Barry London picked up a new keyboard at a flea market and thought it kind of sounded like Joy Division. A conversation with Brad Truax led to them idly contemplating what a Joy Division dub cover band would sound like. Fitz – the progenitor of the Twisted Ones promotional organization – called their bluff and booked them a show. I joined making effects after the 1st show and recorded a 12″ with them that came out on Social Registry. The release sold out quickly and was kind of notorious. . .it’s a very expensive and rare record now! Cut to 2018. . .Pete D’Angelo from Ernest Jenning Recording Co asked if we’d be into reissuing the 12″. Turns we had outtakes from the original session and 2 finished tracks from an aborted album session! The tracks have been remastered and we have liner notes from Jesse Jarnow. It’s a great release!
